Rosehall Run’s vineyards are situated on prime grape growing land in the heart of Hillier, the most densely planted viticultural area in Prince Edward County. Cradled by Lake Ontario, the vineyards are planted on gently sloping farmland comprised of rocky limestone-strewn clay with a fractured limestone base. Soil depths vary from 18-42”. The Hillier clay terroir provides an ideal foundation for our vines. Established in 2001, our current vineyard encompasses 24 acres, planted with 30,000 vines consisting primarily of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Chardonnay Musqué, Ehrenfelser and small lots of various varietals. At Rosehall Run, we produce wines that are a conduit for expressing the delicate intensity of the fruit grown in the County. Care is taken in every step of the production process including day-to-day vine by vine management, hand-sorting and hand-picking of all estate fruit, gentle, non-invasive grape processing and a meticulous approach to winemaking. Nature has bestowed on us the promise of generous warm summers but brings the threat of bitterly cold winters; rugged, rocky clay is packed with rich minerality. The results are high quality, hand crafted wines that reflect the harmonious convergence of these elements. This content requires the Macromedia Flash Player.
