 Tasting Notes (2012)

This medium to full bodied Cabernet Franc has beautiful blackberry, lovely spice and vanilla aromas; on the palate it is dry, well structured with a mixture of blackberries and fruit enhanced by spicy woody smoky flavours.

Food Pairing Suggestions

Enjoy this wine with vegetarian dishes that contains cabbage, bell peppers, or herbs, pairs nicely with fine lighter meats such as turkey, duck or other game birds. Try also with stir-fry beef dishes.

Winemaking Description

Made from fruit grown and hand harvested at Prince Edward County‚Äôs Fieldstone Vineyard.  Vines were planted in 2001 and 2002 and managed by the Rosehall Run viticultural team. A hand sort, destem only and a warm 22 day fermentation was employed. Aged in French oak for about 14 months, 50% new.

 Critical Acclaim

Smokey tobacco, cassis, raspberry, cocoa and a slight grilled meat element combine on a medium body frame. The tannins are moderate and there is just a touch of sharp acid on the finale. All and all this is a food friendly and delicious Franc to be enjoyed over the next years. 89 points Evan Saviolidis, WineTidings
