Vineyards

The land where we chose to establish our roots was traditionally known as “Hungry Point” where conditions were dry, winds were harsh and shallow rooted plants did not always thrive. It turns out vinifera grapes are right at home here. The vines dig deep into the earth gathering enough water and nutrition from the mineral-rich clay to produce ripe, concentrated fruit. The Pinot Noir is sourced from our South and West estate vineyards planted in 2003 and 2004.

Tasting Notes

Dry, medium weight, medium acidity with soft tannins, the nose is inviting with dried rose petals and red field berries. A burst of red and black berry flavours with dried herbs and light floral characters and a  hint of toasted smoke on the finish.

Food Pairing Suggestions

Pairs beautifully with a variety of foods such as hearty bean dishes like lentil soup or grilled shitake mushrooms. Try it with dishes with a hint of smoky flavour like lightly smoked beet salad, pork chops with smoked cranberry sauce or smoked salmon/trout. Also, the perfect wine to pair with game meat like roasted venison or bison stew with wild mushrooms.
